10 Tips for Getting Together this Holiday Season

  1. Send Online Invitations
They are free and environmentally friendly.

  2. Keep It Simple
Find the best holiday recipes that are simple and use 5 ingredients or less, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time together.

  3. Throw a Putluck
Ask guests to bring appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts or whatever potluck recipes they want and enjoy the collective fun.

  4. Festive Family Movie Night
If door-to-door caroling isn't your family's thing, start a tradition of watching your favorite class holiday movie together. Don't forget the snacks!

  5. Kids in the Kitchen
Find a kid-friendly recipe that lets you cook and bake together.

  6. Gift Exchange
Hold gift exchanges or a cookie swap with coworkers, friends, or family. Trading even small gifts is a fun way to spend time together during the holiday season.

  7. Share Memories
Make it easy for friends and family to share pictures online by setting up a photo group on your favorite social network.

  8. Holiday Card Party
Kids love crafts, and homemade holiday cards are fun to make a receive. Grab your craft supplies, gather the kids, and make some cards (and memories!).

  9. Don't Let Miles Get in the Way
Use video chat or even just the speakerphone to spend time with friends and family, no matter where they are.

  10. Last Minute Flight Deals
Keep your eyes (and mind) open for last-minute deals that could let you get together with faraway family and friends.
