FAMOUS AMOS™ COOKIES SUPPORTS BLACK HISTORY AND THE HBCU TRADITION
At Kellogg Company, diversity is one of the driving forces that inspire our innovation and helps enhance our competitive advantage. Famous Amos™ Cookies is proud to support black history and the HBCU tradition by partnering with Jerry Rice, a past HBCU football great of Mississippi Valley State University and College Football Hall of Famer, along with the State Farm Bayou Classic®.
Historically Black Colleges and Universities, known as HBCUs, are historical landmark institutions that symbolize education, empowerment, history, and passion and no event captures that passion and tradition more colorfully than the State Farm Bayou Classic®.
The first ever Bayou Classic was played in New Orleans’ Tulane Stadium in 1974 with 76,753 fans in attendance. Since then, this gridiron match-up between Grambling State University and Southern University, which is nationally televised on NBC Sports over Thanksgiving weekend, represents the best that collegiate sports have to offer: teamwork, tradition, passion, and fierce competition.
With the game’s expansion over the years from Tulane Stadium to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, LA, the State Farm Bayou Classic®, including over 200,000 fans that descend upon the city to take part in the festivities, pumps more than $30 million into the New Orleans economy, annually. From the excitement of a sensational football competition, crowd favorite Battle of the Bands, to the gospel brunch, the event seeks to serve each and every one if its patrons.
Please join Famous Amos™ Cookies in celebrating the State Farm Bayou Classic® tradition on November 29th, 2008.
